About the Artist

Merna Uccello, a former registered nurse and executive with an international healthcare management company, started Red Coat Designs in 1999. With only her God-given talent and no formal art training, she has painted for over 300 clients — sports and entertainment celebrities, churches, restaurants, soccer moms, and more — and the majority are repeat customers.

With little more than word-of-mouth advertising, Merna has built an extensive portfolio, completing projects in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, Louisiana and Texas.
Three things clients tell their friends are:

1. “She’s fast!”
2. “The cost was less than I expected.”
3. “The work exceeded my expectations!”

Merna’s work has been featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution (March 7, 2005) and other local newspapers, as well as the March 2006 issue of Guideposts Magazine. Her work is also in the Smalley home, one of the four featured in the 2007 Tour of Homes in Big Canoe, GA.

Testimonials:

(Her work is) unique and I like to be unique … anything I challenged Merna with she was up to it.
